In operation since 1936, the Richmond Fire Department offers emergency medical services. The department serves individuals in the town of Richmond in New York. It offers nonemergency services and administers fire prevention, first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training programs for various schools and community groups. The Richmond Fire Department provides blood pressure screening and vehicle extrication services. The department has a fleet of all-terrain vehicles, engines, ambulances, rescue units and ladder trucks. It covers an area of more than 70 square miles and responds to over 595 emergency calls annually. The Richmond Fire Department conducts tours of firehouses for groups and individuals.
