The Quad-City Area Labor-Management Council (QCALM, pronounced "calm" ), was established in 1986 to be a force for positive economic change in the Quad Cities community. QCALM is a nonprofit organization governed by a board of directors made up of six management leaders and six labor leaders whose respective organizations operate under a collective bargaining agreement. The Quad City Area Labor-Management Council has been providing high quality training, workshops and future workforce development programs since 1986. The organization has an established track record of serving young adults and children since 2001. QCALM's members include businesses, labor, government units, educational institutions and associates. Members work to strengthen partnerships with other community agencies, such as the School-to-Work program, the court system, the Chamber of Commerce, and area colleges, to better prepare our youth for the jobs of tomorrow. QCALM's mission is to be the leader in promoting labor-management cooperation as a means of strengthening the economic and social well being of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. We will accomplish this through facilitating open, honest communication based on mutual respect, and through education and involvement of our members, youth and young people in our community.
