The Adams County Sheriff's Department is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. It serves and processes various writs, orders, subpoenas and other civil papers for local courts and other county and state departments. The Adams County Sheriff's Department operates a jail and detention center that houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners.
