Danielle Joy Peterson Elementary School is one of 35 schools in Indian Prairie School District 204, which serves about 28,000 students—two-thirds of whom are from Naperville. The school was named after Danielle Joy Peterson, who was born in Florida and moved to Naperville as a child. Despite an early diagnosis of cystic fibrosis and rheumatoid arthritis, Peterson lived every day with enthusiasm. Today, the school is decorated in several shades of purple, which was Danielle's favorite color.
