The Peoria Park District is a public park system that was organized in 1894 and encompasses more than 60 square miles in Peoria County. It offers an after-school program for children between the ages of 6 and 15. The district s Logan Park and Recreation Center features a soccer field, multipurpose indoor recreational area, outdoor lighted basketball courts and picnic pavilions. Its parks host a variety of events, such as concerts, talent shows, wiffleball tournaments, book sale, job fairs, spring thaw competitions, kite day celebrations and spring dance recitals. Additionally, the Peoria Park District offers regular and special event volunteering opportunities. It is located in Peoria, Ill.
