The first services were held May 17, 1959, in a chapel that had been constructed on the northeast side of the current property. A new church building was erected and dedicated on the church's seventh anniversary, and in 1985, the present sanctuary and lower level classrooms were added.
The church aims to be the type of church Paul writes about in Ephesians 2:19-21: "You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family. We are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We who believe are carefully joined together, becoming a holy temple for the Lord."
