The Pekin Police Department is a law enforcement agency that offers several support services, including gun registration, domestic violence prevention, animal control, and traffic and parking law enforcement. Located in Pekin, Ill., it has a special services division that is comprised of investigation, juvenile crime, narcotics investigation and high school liaison units. The Pekin Police Department also maintains a crime prevention unit that maintains constant communication with the community through surveys, public forums, radio and other service groups. The department supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities to volunteers of Crime Stoppers.
