The department professionals also perform detailed analyses of various injury data sets to aid in the identification of problems, selection of countermeasures, and the evaluation of program effectiveness Its network of chapters conducts safety, health and environmental efforts at the community level, providing training, conferences, workshops, consultation, newsletters, updates and safety support materials, as well as valuable networking avenues. Located in many cities across the United States and in the United Kingdom, its network extends the Council's visibility and provides a local voice for advocating issues that can educate, inform, protect, and save lives.
