National Black Wall Street Chicago (NBWSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the community, with a focus on consumer education, capacity building, and supporting black businesses. Inspired by the historic success of Greenwood, Tulsa, known as America's Black Wall Street, NBWSC aims to revive the spirit and example of this thriving African American community, which was tragically destroyed during the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921.
Through their Consumer Education and Consumer Action Project, NBWSC empowers the black community to utilize their consumer spending power to sustain and increase black-owned businesses, jobs, and institutions. They also advocate for financial partnerships between major corporations and existing businesses in black communities, aiming to address economic disparities and promote community development.
