History
Media Burn recognizes the power of documentary to change the way we understand the world around us. That's why it is our mission to preserve our shared cultural history on analog videotape and make it available for generations to come. More than 3,000 hours of innovative, exciting, and illuminating video are streaming at Media Burn. Media Burn is a project of the Fund for Innovative TV (FITV). FITV was founded to produce and distribute documentary video and television that illuminates the world around us. Since 1990, FITV has produced many award-winning television series, including THE 90's, Chicago Slices, and Weekend TV, and dozens of documentaries. FITV's principals were the creators of such series as Image Union, Soundstage, and Siskel and Ebert at the Movies. FITV was founded by Tom Weinberg, who has been a central figure in the independent video community for 40 years.
