Established in 1969, McHenry County Mental Health Board is engaged in the prevention and treatment of mental illness, developmental disabilities and chemical abuse. It plans, develops and contracts services for citizens of McHenry County in Illinois. Based in Crystal Lake, Ill., it works with providers, consumers, family members, legislators and community partners to provide leadership, funds, treatment and education for mental health care. Its list of agencies includes FamilyCARE, Youth Service Bureau and Adult & Child Rehab Center, among others. A programs, supports a federal children mental health initiative and credited through the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Services, the board is a member of the National Council for Community Behavioral Health care, Association Community Mental Health Authorities of Illinois and other organizations.
