Following tradition in naming local schools after presidents, this facility was designated Madison Junior High and opened its doors in 1978. Today it serves children in grades six through eight.
According the website, the school's mission is "to educate students to be self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers and community contributors." Students contributed to a number of worthy causes in 2010. During one fun-filled Friday night event, "The Masquerade," students raised money to assist in Haitian earthquake relief.
The student handbook is available online.
