From its beginnings in 1946, Lamin-Art has evolved from a company manufacturing industrial-grade high-pressure laminate products for use in a variety of industrial products to a nationally recognized supplier of design-statement surfacing materials. In the 1950s, the retro dinette sets and countertops largely contributed to what was the boom of high-pressure laminate used as a decorative surfacing material. Lamin-Art s most popular patterns were American walnut, natural travertine, white la jolla and yellow balboa. The 1970s unfolded with a clear trend towards brighter colors, exotic woods and natural looking products, so the company introduced Koa, an exotic woodgrain from Hawaii, as well as California oak, and abstract designs such as harvest nebula, snow drift and solid colors avocado and rally orange. Lamin-Art brand premium laminates are used by architects and interior designers for high-end commercial projects throughout North America, as well as for projects worldwide. Lamin-Art is located in Schaumburg, Ill.
