Founded in 1888, Lake Forest Country Day School serves more than 400 students in preschool through eighth grade. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Independent Schools Association of the Central States and the Lake Michigan Association of Independent Schools. The school curriculum offers classes in various subjects, including language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, foreign language, fine arts, physical education and information literacy. It also provides a range of extracurricular activities, such as band instruction, choral music, and studio and performing arts. In addition, the school organizes various concerts and exhibitions and publishes a literary magazine, newspaper and yearbook. Its facility offers science laboratories, a library, performing arts center, greenhouse, lunch room, common areas and playgrounds. The school is located in Lake Forest, Ill.
