Knapheide Truck Equipment is a subsidiary of The Knapheide Manufacturing Company, a producer of steel service truck bodies and platform/stake-style truck bodies. The company was founded in 1848, initially manufacturing wagons for farmers. Its earlier products also served the lumber, coal and general hauling industries. As time progressed, Knapheide began building cabs and bodies for Model T trucks. Today, Knapheide produces truck bodies for Dodge, Ford and General Motors products. Its other products include line bodies, crane bodies, bodies for utility vans, westerner storage, platforms, gooseneck platforms, contractor, landscaper, dump bodies, hoists, knap kaps, tool boxes and knap packs. The Knapheide Manufacturing Company, along with Knapheide Truck Equipment, maintains its head office in Quincy, Ill.
