Kildeer Countryside School District 96 serves students from kindergarten through eighth grade who live in the areas of Buffalo Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove and Vernon Hills.
All kindergartners attend a half-day program at Willow Grove Kindergarten center. Upon completion, they move on to one of the district's four elementary schools -- Ivy Hall, Kildeer Countryside, Prairie and Country Meadows -- which serve first- through fifth-graders. Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders attend either Twin Groves or Woodlawn middle school before beginning high school at Stevenson.
District 96's enrollment of approximately 3,100 students also includes at-risk children served by its early childhood program for those aged three to four. The program is held at Willow Grove.
