Katherine Legge Memorial Park was recognized in 2008 by the American Institute of Architects, Illinois Council, as one of the 150 places in Illinois that enhances local quality of life. It is located on 52 acres in the Southeast corner of Hinsdale. The buildings and grounds were donated to the Village in 1973. The Lodge was built in 1927 as a retreat for women. Today it is used for private events. The park has two picnic pavilions, numerous picnic tables, a playground, soccer and football fields, a sled hill and four platform tennis courts. The Hinsdale Center for the Arts is located within the grounds, as is the R. Harold Zook home and studio. There are specific times for dog walking in the park, so check the Web site or park signage for details.
