James D. Thomas, MD is a cardiologist and director of the Center for Heart Valve Disease at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His clinical interests include valvular heart disease and diastolic dysfunction. Dr. Thomas also serves as lead scientist for ultrasound with NASA, focusing on space physiology, specifically the effects of space on heart function. He is a professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
