Founded in 1883, Immanuel United Church of Christ is located just steps from Evergreen Plaza. Lead by Pastor Yvette Marie Eber, the church places a strong emphasis on worship, community outreach, affordable housing and Christian education.
Regarding congregational life and leadership, the church displays a "common life of worship and fellowship as the product of the efforts of many dedicated members and friends of Immanuel Church." Members may participate in a number of fellowship groups including the Men's Club, Women's Guild and the Immanuel Pioneers Seniors group.
Parents of small children may enroll them in Imannuel Preschool, the church's half-day preschool that meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from September to May. The morning session meets 9am-11:30am and the afternoon session meets 1pm-3:15pm. The church also offers an Enrichment Class on Monday mornings for 4 and 5 year olds.
As one of its main missions for over 45 years, Immanuel United Church of Christ privides low-income housing for seniors in their 24-unit facility, located just across the street from the church. For more details, please contact the church office.
