Illinois Valley Credit Union, located at 1311 Shooting Park Road in Peru and 200 Ace Road in Princeton, Illinois is a financial cooperative that offers its members a non-profit alternative to banks, savings and loans and other organizations. Originally serving one employer group, Marquette Cement Manufacturing Co., now known as Lone Star Industries, membership structure was changed in 1970 to allow employer groups consisting of industries, governmental agencies, and business firms in the Illinois Valley to join and offer credit union benefits and services to their employees. Then in July 1998, the credit union became a community charter allowing anyone residing, worshipping or working in LaSalle, Bureau, or Putnam counties to become eligible for membership.
