State Police
Illinois State Police is a law enforcement agency that promotes public safety, identifies and solves criminal cases and safeguards citizens rights. It provides patrol coverage, prosecutorial support, and investigative and juvenile services. The agency offers services for the issuing of bar cards, house checks, criminal and driver's history checks, and home and business security surveys. Illinois State Police s criminal investigations division conducts interviews, collects evidence, apprehends criminals and works closely with the prosecutor's office to prosecute criminal offenders. It maintains administrative, forensic services and internal investigation divisions. In addition, the agency has a division of operations that is comprised of sex offender registration, commercial vehicle and Internet crime units.
