History
Illinois Manufacturing Foundation continues the training and placement programs started in 1981 as the Industrial and Business Training Programs of Chicago Commons, transferred in 1991 to the Chicago Manufacturing Institute and as an independent non-profit in 2001.

Intensive Training to Become a Machinist (Adults 18 and up) Intensive Training to Become a Building Maintenance Technician (Adults 18 and up) Intensive Training to Become a Computer Support Specialist (Adults 18 and up) Sponsorship of Team 2136 in the First Robotics Competition (January through the first week of April; open for neighborhood 14-18 year olds enrolled in high school)
