Illinois Crop Improvement Association, located in Champaign, Ill., offers seed certification services throughout the state. It provides official seed certification and related services under a series of official memoranda of understandings. The agency provides various services, such as aflatoxin, amino acids, amylose content, and certification inspections, chemical analysis and customized adventitious presence testing. It also provides services, including extracting starch, fast-green tests for corn and cereals, and fatty acids, field inspections, food-grade hybrid evaluation tests, and fumonisin and genetic testing. The agency organizes various programs, such as in-seed conditioning workshops and golf outings. It additionally provides crop improvement inspectors for assessing the phenotypes of crops and the efficacy of hybrid seed production techniques for pollen control and isolation.
