Hostert Log Cabin Site is the home of two log cabins from the 19th century. The first is a reconstructed cabin originally build in 1955 by Bernard Hostert. Its original location was on 159th Street, west of Will-Cook Road. The second, built in 1850 by Berbnard's brother, Jacob Hostert, was located on 143rd Street, a few miles west of Orland Park.
The Bernard Hostert cabin contains farming tools and hand irons. The Jacob Hostert Log Cabin is furnished with authentic period pieces. There are also five picnic tables on this site, so consider bringing a lunch along with you when you visit.
