Varisport, Inc, was founded in January of 1994 as "Torch Enterprises." Our initial product, Ultraslide ( developed in 1992 ), was quickly becoming recognized as an essential lateral training and conditioning device for pro and college teams, clinics, and individual athletes. Looking for a corporate name that was truly unique to the company's mission, "Torch Enterprises" was changed to "Varisport" in May of 2004. The name comes from the Latin "varietas" which means "diversity". Coupled with "sport", the name embodies the message the company tries to promote: "Diversity Of Sport, In Sport, And Through Sport". As Varisport grows beyond Ultraslide into other products and services, including travel and seminars, we will always stay true to the belief that sport can and must be used to build bridges, create understanding and tolerance, and unite the people of the world.
