Helping Hand Rehabilitation Center, located in Countryside, Ill., is a nonprofit social service organization that has been operational for more than 50 years. It provides specialized programs and health care services to children and adults suffering from various disabilities. The agency serves more than 400 children and adults, and operates a clinic for children that provides physical, speech and occupational therapies. Additionally, the center provides various other services for adults, such as housing options, social skills and vocational training, assistance with interview skills, computer training, employment counseling and job placement services. Helping Hand Rehabilitation Center also provides assistance to individuals suffering from various physical disabilities to attain self-sufficiency and functional independence, and organizes recreational and social activities. The center additionally operates a school for children suffering from autism that provides an interactive learning environment, and has special education teachers, behavior analysts, registered nurses, psychologists, and speech and language therapists.
