Our founder, Richard Hanlon, started in the Stud Welding Business in 1958. He was a salesman with Gram Manufacturing Company, Gram invented the Capacitor Discharge Stud Welding process. Richard Hanlon was a salesman selling to OEM Stud Welding & Industrial Insulating Fastening interests across the Midwest. Gram was sold to Omark Industries in 1960 where he also was a salesman. In 1959 Harry Jones started H.A. Jones Company in Dayton, Ohio, a new stud welding/insulation fastening company. Shortly after, Richard Hanlon left Omark, and started Hanlon Equipment Company. He joined forces with Harry Jones and became a manufacturers representative in the Midwest Region. Hanlon began servicing several markets including: OEM Stud Welding, Industrial Insulation Fastening, and HVAC Sheet Metal. Over the years, Hanlon Equipment evolved from a manufacturers representative into a full service distributor. Products were stocked in Chicago and Hanlon set up a stud welding service center. We sell, repair & rent stud welding/insulation fastening equipment. In the early 80's Jones sold his company to Erico, another stud welding company. The company became known as Erico Jones Company. Erico closed the Dayton plant and moved the company to its headquarters in Moorestown, New Jersey. Several of the Dayton employees, who did not move with the company, started Midwest Fasteners Company we represent today. Before Erico went out of business in 1989, we decided to end our 29 year association with the Erico/Jones company, and became a distributor for Midwest Fasteners Company. Hanlon Equipment is a Full-Service supplier of Stud Welding & Insulation Fastening equipment & fasteners. We operate out of a modern industrial building in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. We service the Midwest area including: Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota.
