The Romeoville Recreation Center serves the Romeoville and surrounding communities with a variety of park district programs for the entire family. From early childhood to seniors and active adults, there is a social, fitness or fun program to enrich your life!
Specialties
The award-winning Romeoville Recreation Department exists to provide quality recreational services to all age groups in the community through a diversified selection of classes, programs, athletic leagues and community events. Toddlers to senior citizens can find an activity or event that will suit their needs. Offering over 30 special events, 29 parks and recreational areas, and many FREE events for families including summer Movies in the Park and Park Parties, the Rockin' the Ville concert series, a four-day festival called RomeoFest, Santa visits at the Winter Wonderland event and a Glow-in the-Dark Egg Hunt in spring. The Recreation Department continues to add and improve to its wide variety of leisure time activities that are offered to the residents and surrounding communities. The hub of community leisure time activities takes place at Village Park, which features the 55,000-square-foot Recreation Center, four baseball diamonds (one lighted baseball diamond), one lighted football field, lighted tennis courts, playgrounds, a picnic pavilion, horseshoe pits, a concession stand and an open recreational space. The Recreation Center, recipient of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association's 2002 Outstanding Facility of the Year Award and 2013 Exceptional Workplace Award, houses the 3,000-square-foot Fit-4-Life Fitness Center, which overlooks beautiful Village Park.
