The Bank of Marion was granted a charter in September 1937. Founded by members of Marion, Ill., it is the only bank in Marion that has not been bought, sold or changed its name. It has grown from an institution with $62,000 in capital to have approximately $24 million in capital and more than $236 million in total assets, which makes it the largest locally owned and operated bank in Williamson County, Ill. The Bank of Marion maintains eight locations in Illinois. It offers multiple checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit and individual retirement accounts, several business accounts, loan options and investment services. The Bank of Marion also offers online banking.
