Emerson Elementary School, founded in 1952, is a coeducational institution that serves students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers a variety of academic subjects, such as reading, mathematics, English, social studies and science. The school also provides instruction in physical education, art, music, band and orchestra. It has a learning center that stocks a variety of educational resources and other reference materials. In addition, the school provides a variety of supplies for students, including washable markers, spiral notebooks, erasers, glue sticks, crayons, white T-shirts and supportive gym shoes. It also has a parent-teacher-student association and provides transportation services. The school is a part of the Community Unit School District 200 and is located on a more than 5-acre campus in Wheaton, Ill.
