Downers Grove Township government provides a number of services to unincorporated areas of Downers Grove and Lisle townships, including maintaining 80 miles of roadway and providing weed control and mosquito abatement. The township office also serves as a certified passport acceptance agency.
Downers Grove Township also offers several social service programs, including financial and emergency assistance, intake and enrollment for Access DuPage, education in drug- and bullying-prevention for middle school students and several senior citizen programs.
In addition, Oak Hill and Oak Crest cemetaries are maintained by the township.
The Downers Grove Township is governed by elected trustees William Swanstrom, Robert C. DelSarto, Rita Carlson and Kathleen Abbate. Trustee meetings are held at 7:30pm the first and third Thursdays of the month. Meetings are held in the township offices.
Frank Wurster serves as the Township Supervisor.
