Located on the second floor of a beautiful building, LDS Family Services offers counseling to anybody. In particular, it serves members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also known as the Mormon church.
Counseling specialties include therapy for marriage and family, addiction, abuse, depression and more. Counseling sessions, which are conducted by trained and licensed therapists, last about 50 minutes and cost $105 for the first session and $70 for subsequent sessions, according to LDS Family Services Counseling Manager Justin McPheters.
LDS Family Services also has adoption services available. It serves any birth parents looking to find families for their babies, says McPheters, though those wanting to adopt are LDS members. In addition, this branch of LDS Family Services coordinates activities throughout Illinois and parts of Wisconsin.
