History
Dayspring Montessori School was founded by David and Karis Larson in 2007, based on the Montessori philosophy with emphases on Spanish and music. David, who has a Master's degree in Linguistics, has worked as an English teacher and is currently writing a book on English grammar for Spanish-speaking ESL learners. He really loves children and had search for and found a bigger vision for serving children. Karis believes that Montessori Education is the way children should be educated as a help to life and an education for peace. She has taught her two grown children in the Montessori way. She has served children as a teacher for about 30 years in Montessori Education. Now, she wants to lead children with the rest of her strengths, ideas, and especially big love for teaching, with strong abilities of music for children, assisting their lives and making peace in their minds.

We are dedicated to the Montessori way and are fully equipped to provide your children with a world of learning opportunities. We facilitate their journey of discovery and mastery of the most basic concepts and knowledge, leading gradually and steadily to higher levels. Children come alive in a Montessori environment paced to the progressive stages in their growth and we share the excitement of children using and developing their own mind and skills. Dayspring Montessori School is a non-for-profit corporation and a friendly, non-sectarian, culturally diverse school. It is located on a large, open campus with grass and trees, and ample parking next to Skokie Highway, 41 and the Edens Expressway, I-94 just south of Dundee. It is a member school of American Montessori Society and is registered under the Illinois Board of Education.
