The Yard Waste Collection Program is operated on a weekly basis. It is provided by the Solid Waste Division, which is responsible for residential solid waste collection and includes more than 12,000 stops per week. The division serves over 35 dumpsters weekly. The Solid Waste Division operates a yard waste facility for processing mulch, compost, firewood and other products. It maintains a fleet of several solid waste trucks. The division is a part of the Public Works Department, which is governed by the City of Danville in Illinois. The department is responsible for the maintenance of streets and parks. It operates sewer, engineering and street divisions. The district maintains Harrison Park Golf Course, which has a driving range and practice green and hosts various tournaments and events. The Public Works Department operates a central vehicle maintenance division that is responsible for the repair and maintenance of more than 150 operational units.
