Illini Media, earlier known as the Illini Publishing Company, is a nonprofit corporation chartered by the state of Illinois in 1911. It organizes and operates student media at the University of Illinois. The company operates the Daily Illini, Illio Yearbook, Illinois Technograph and WPGU-FM. Illini Media offers students a range of working opportunities in the media sector. It also sponsors a career fair for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the company provides scholarships for minority students. The Daily Illini is a five-day weekly newspaper that is run by the students of the University of Illinois. It publishes more than 10,000 free copies every week and covers local and world news sections, as well as campus commentaries, food and lifestyle information, and theater and film reviews. Illini Media maintains a location in Champaign, Ill.
