Oak Lawn-Hometown District 123 serves the communities of Oak Lawn and Hometown. The majority of its students come from Oak Lawn. The district is bounded by Pulaski on the east, 107th Street on the south, Central on the west and 87th Street on the north. The district has four elementary schools, including Kolmar, Sward, Covington and Hannum in Oak Lawn, and Hometown in the community of the same name. All five schools serve children in grades pre-K through five. A middle school, Oak Lawn-Hometown, serves children in grades six to eight. District 123 has a long and rich tradition of providing excellent academic programs and a commitment to meeting the needs of the whole child. The district offers a full-day kindergarten, daily physical education, art, music, instrumental music and and a full range of teaching resources. The middle school prepares students to meet the challenges of high school through a number of offerings that include foreign languages, communication arts and technology coursework. In addition, the district provides special education and other services that support the identified needs of students, as well as unique programs to help students develop academic strengths and talents.
