Chicago Youth Programs (CYP) is a non-profit organization that aims to improve the health and life opportunities of at-risk youth in Chicago. With a comprehensive approach, CYP serves the needs of youth living in neighborhoods affected by poverty, offering support in social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and behavioral development. Through a long-term investment from birth until age 25, CYP helps young adults successfully complete their post-secondary plans and establish sustainable careers.
Founded in 1984 as the Cabrini Green Youth Program, CYP has expanded its reach to serve youth and families in at least 30 of Chicago's 50 wards. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, CYP has implemented a virtual program platform to ensure ongoing student engagement, provide volunteer opportunities, and offer new ways for families to engage. With a focus on equity and access, CYP believes in providing quality education, comprehensive healthcare, skill development, and career opportunities to young people of color. Their program model reflects three decades of experience, addressing the impact of poverty on the whole child.
