The martial arts taught at the Brooks Martial Arts Center is one of the oldest martial arts found in Japan, commonly referred to as Kobudo. The Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu training emphasizes total self-protetion methods without the rules and limitations of the more modern sport and recreational martial arts approaches. All of its programs teach real traditional martial arts for the purpose of self-defense and protection. Classes are conducted in a safe, comfortable training setting and students have fun while they learn. For the safety of the students, no free sparring or competition is allowed.
Anthony Brooks (ninth-degree black belt) has hosted and trained with many of the top martial artists in the world. In the late 1970s, he began studying Jeet Kune Do, Tai-Chi-Chaun and boxing. In 1982, Sensei Brooks began training in the Bujinkan Arts.
