History
Books4Cause was founded in 2009 as a company that repurposed and found new homes for used textbooks from schools. CEO Yosef Lifchitz started the company out of his home and eventually began working with local schools, organizations, and not-for-profits like the African Library Project to recirculate textbooks and prevent them from winding up in landfills. Over a decade later, we now send books all over the globe. Donated books go towards building libraries for schools, communities, and universities, as well as towards operating our free bookstores and community and initiatives in Chicago. Please visit our website for more information on how we do what we do.
