Located in Batavia, Ill., Batavia Public Library maintains a collection of more than 126,000 books, periodicals, magazines, newspapers and reference materials. The library houses a multimedia collection of over 15,000 products, including CDs, DVDs, cassettes and video tapes. It organizes a variety of events for children, such as games, puzzles, reading activities, writing workshops and creative programs. The library s adults' department also organizes a range of programs that includes book discussions, author lectures, and arts, crafts and sculpting workshops. Additionally, it conducts computer and Internet classes for adults and students. It provides computer access, interlibrary loan and renewal services to its members. Founded in 1868, Batavia Public Library s 54,000-square-foot facility includes a meeting room for library functions, meetings and programs.
