Magic Island is a day-care center dedicated to developing childrens' bodies and minds in a safe and nurturing environment. The center accepts kids from 2 to 6 years old. They take part in programs in music, language and literacy, socialization skills, literature, wellness, math and art. Magic Island also stresses the individuality of each child. Books, toys, big classrooms and a fun, busy playground add to the learning ambiance. In addition, Magic Island instructs kids in personal hygiene while instilling good exercise habits. Teachers here have a master's degree and some of the staff speak Russian. The site can be a little difficult to find, as it is tucked behind a strip mall at the southeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and McHenry Road.
