The Affton Fire Protection District covers Affton and the villages of 63123 from Grant's Trail to Des Peres Parkway and from Watson Road down to Union Road. Headed by Chief Jim Fritz, the Affton district is a part of the St. Louis County Hazardous Materials Response Team and St. Louis County Urban Search and Rescue Strike Team 3. The district is served by three firehouses with 32 professional fire fighters and an additional 30 reserve fight fighters. It is one of the few combination professional and volunteer fire protection teams in the county and offers state certified fire fighter training. Along with fire and rescue services, the Affton District maintains a presence in the community by holding educational programs, and organizing blood drives, battery drives and other events at schools and town gatherings.
