Established in 1975, Aurora Christian Schools offer coeducational programs in grades primary to high school that are God centered. The school provides an extended preschool program that allows children to stay past the normally scheduled school hours. Its middle school students are scheduled into Bible studies, English, history, math, music, physical education and science. Its students may choose band, choir or general music. The school s standard math curriculum is pre-algebra in seventh-grade and algebra I in eighth-grade. The students having difficulty in sixth-grade math are placed in math skills class during seventh-grade before taking pre-algebra in eighth-grade. Students rotate through electives including art, home economics, keyboarding and Spanish. Its discovery center is an independent program to help students who have learning disabilities. The school also has various athletic teams including track and field, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, golf softball and baseball teams. ACS is located in Aurora, Ill.
