The Albany Park Community Center supports a Head Start program that provides federally funded pre-school programs for children of low-income families. The Head Start program is headquartered inside the Berry United Methodist Church. This fully accredited program is dedicated to promoting the social, cognitive, physical and emotional well-being of children ages 3-5 and to prepare them to excel in grade school. A variety of languages are spoken. The initiative emphasizes and encourages parental involvement in the education process. Programs are half-day sessions Mondays through Thursdays. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided.
