You should discontinue any use of antihistamines approximately three to four days prior to your first appointment, or if your visit requires skin testing. Contacting your provider: When you call the Allergy/Immunology Department to leave a message for your provider, you will be asked for a description of your condition and the following information: Your name, date of birth, and telephone number Symptoms observed or reasons for calling This summary of information is then given to the provider, including pharmacy information and medicine allergies. Whenever possible, we return calls in 24 hours. In some cases, the allergy/immunology clinical associate may be able to help you and you will not have to wait for your provider to call you back. In case of emergency: Whenever you call the Allergy/Immunology Department, please let us know immediately if you are experiencing an emergency so that we may respond appropriately.
