Sawtooth Martial Arts, established in 1996, is a nationally certified school under the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation, offering classes throughout the year for all ages and abilities. Led by owner and chief instructor Oliver Whitcomb, who has been training in Soo Bahk Do since 1979, the school promotes longevity through the practice of this complete martial art, which enhances flexibility, coordination, balance, strength, discipline, respect, concentration, conflict resolution, and practical self-defense.
Soo Bahk Do, a traditional Korean Karate, is predominantly a stand-up striking art form that teaches the science behind proper breath and movement. Sawtooth Martial Arts also offers a Therapeutic Martial Arts class called Integrated Breathing and Movement (IBAM), which focuses on practical breathing and movement techniques that relieve stress, optimize health and performance, increase resilience, and reduce chronic fatigue and pain in the body.
