The Division of Highways is a public agency that provides a range of transportation improvement programs and related services. It is responsible for the construction and maintenance of highways throughout Idaho. The division oversees roadway design and bridge construction projects, as well as formulates highway safety guidelines and related programs statewide. It additionally maintains traffic statistics and highway data and maps. The division offers roadside vegetation maintenance, pavement management, contract administration, engineering, training, and research and development services. The Division of Highways also provides snow plowing, sanding, property auction, consulting and environmental assessment services. It is a part of the Idaho Transportation Department, which operates aeronautics and motor vehicle divisions.
