Cinder Winery was established in 2006 by Melanie Krause the winemaker, and her husband Joe Schnerr. Melanie grew up here in Boise and moved to Washington State to attend WSU where she studied Biology and Spanish. She got a job as an enologist at Chateau Ste. Michelle, and was promoted to Assistant Winemaker in 2003. They moved to Boise in 2006 and started Cinder Winery making 2 Barrels of Syrah that first year. We moved into the old
