Established in 1990, the Benewah Medical and Wellness Center provides services to the medically underserved and indigent population in Benewah County on the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation in Idaho. Based in Plummer, Idaho, the center now employs a staff of 160 and serves nearly 8,000 patients in the region. It treats the patients in home / school settings in issues related to medical, mental health, nutrition, rehabilitation and wellness programs. In addition, the Benewah Medical and Wellness Center offers community-based services, like school-linked health care, wellness fairs, satellite flu clinics, home visits to the chronically ill, transportation for the elderly, nutrition education and a focus on diabetes and asthma.
