USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park restores and preserves the World War II submarine USS Bowfin, and submarine-related artifacts on its grounds, and in the museum. The visitors to the center are given a walkman-style cassette player that narrates their tour as they explore this historic submarine to imagine what life on board must have been like for its crew. Its 10,000-square-foot museum exhibits a collection of submarine-related artifacts, such as submarine weapon systems, photographs, paintings, battle flags, original recruiting posters, and detailed submarine models, illustrating the history of the U.S. Submarine Service. The center has a minitheater, which features submarine-related videos, and has a seating capacity of up to 40 visitors. Bowfin Park also has a public memorial honoring the 52 American submarines and the more than 3,500 submariners lost during WWII. It is located in Honolulu, Hawaii.
